A four-bedroom, 4,063-square-foot River North town home that actor Vince Vaughn owned from 2005 until 2015 sold July 31 for $1.72 million.

Built in 2002, the town home is on West Superior Street in the City Club development. A native of Buffalo Grove and Lake Forest, Vaughn paid $1.42 million for the town home. At that time, Vaughn’s career as a leading man in films was in full swing, and he also was a fixture in tabloid magazines because he was dating actor Jennifer Aniston.

Vaughn then paid $12 million in 2006 for a triplex penthouse condominium in the Palmolive building, which he owned until selling in two pieces for a total of $12.1 million in 2016.

Vaughn long rented out the River North town home, which he sold for $1.4 million in 2015. It then sold again in 2018 for $1.47 million. Those buyers renovated it and then listed it in May for $1.85 million.

Features in the town home include five bathrooms, millwork, a fireplace in the living room, two wine refrigerators and a kitchen with Sub-Zero, Viking and Wolf appliances. The house also has a three-car attached garage and a large outdoor rooftop terrace.

Public records do not yet identify the buyers. Listing agent Harold Blum declined to comment.

The town home had a $30,600 tax bill in 2018.
