Timuel Black, longtime Chicago activist, historian and professor emeritus of social sciences at the City Colleges of Chicago, in the lobby of UIC’s Forum, before being honored by the Jazz Institute of Chicago in 2008. Black grew up on the South Side and is known as the “truth teller of Chicago.”
