The Chicago Housing Authority has given 54 families in public housing their own home this year through their Choose To Own homeownership program. The program allows public housing residents to use their housing subsidy to buy themselves a home. One resident, Sonja Roberson, has moved into her new four-bedroom home with her children on Chicago’s South Side in the Brainerd neighborhood.
