Put a stop to red light program
I think the red light camera program in Waukegan is unfair, and it does take advantage of those with low incomes and the unemployed. As a person who once tried politics, I’ve seen the greed in how people in power can abuse their office.
How this program was started, or who deserves to be fined, is not the issue. The issue is accountability and integrity. That’s why many judges and police in Southern states have opted out of such programs. They know that they are elected to serve the people, and not the other way around.
I hope and pray that people will get smart and put an end to this corrupt program. I read that many state officials already have plans to ban the program statewide.
There are other ways to correct driving behaviors without hefty fines, and the courts can be frustrating.
