Gary Police are still looking for answers in a Feb. 5 shooting ruled a murder-suicide.

Gary Police said officers were sent to the 800 block of Fayette Street about a domestic incidence where, upon arrival, they found a 34-year-old woman and 23-year-old man who appeared to have been shot, police said.

The Lake County Coroner’s office declared both dead at the scene, police said.

The coroner’s office identified the woman as Kerry Tucker, of the 800 block of Fayette Street, in a release later that night. On Monday, the coroner’s office said the male was identified as Kenneth Crawley, also of the 800 block of Fayette Street.

Neither the coroner’s office nor Gary Police have identified the man yet.

Officers took three children, who showed no signs of injury, from the residence, police said. Police ruled the shooting a murder-suicide and declined to release further preliminary details since children were involved.

Gary Deputy Mayor Trent McCain issued a statement Saturday on behalf of the city offering condolences.

“Our hearts and prayers go out to the children who witnessed such a senseless act of violence, and we grieve with them,” McCain said. “This is another stark reminder of the pervasiveness of domestic violence in our society.

“We will do all we can to support these children and their families during this difficult time.”
