Choose your favorite St. Patrick’s snowman, pet
The Thom McNamee Memorial St. Patrick’s Day parade is canceled this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic but organizers are planning two things to keep a wee bit of that Irish feeling in East Dundee this March.
The first is a contest for St. Patrick-inspired snowmen, according to the group’s Facebook page.
Taking advantage of the recent snowfall, entrants are encouraged to come up with the most imaginative leprechaun the can build, take a photo of their work, post it on Facebook, tag it to the parade’s Facebook page and include the hashtag #DublinDEEsnowman2021.
Votes from the public will be tallied and the winning entry receives a gift card to a local business, the announcement said.
They’re doing the same thing for pets attired in their best St. Patrick’s Day outfits, a contest that’s taking the place of the annual pet parade.
The same rules will apply in regards to posting the photos on Facebook, tagging them for the parade Facebook page and being judged by the public to determine the winner of the Best Irish Pet 2021.
