Young volunteers from Golf School District 67 in Morton Grove spent March 24 collecting donations of food and essentials for families in need, according to a district spokesperson.

The students, all members of the Volunteer Service Clubs (VSC) at the district’s two schools, Hynes Elementary and Golf Middle School, held a drop-off Donation Drive on March 24. The students helped to unload donations from donors’ vehicles and then sorted and boxed the items. They delivered more than 21 boxes of non-perishable food to the Niles Township Food Pantry.

In addition, they gave donations of 11 cases of new socks, new blankets, toothbrushes and self-care items to Connections for the Homeless in Evanston. Finally, they raised and donated $449.74 to Glenbrook Hospital to support COVID-19 efforts.
