
Greek food fest returns
The annual Big Greek Food Fest of Niles will return July 16-18 to St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church, 7373 Caldwell Ave. in Niles.
The annual outdoor festival will feature Greek food and pastries for purchase, as well as music, dance and cooking classes.
Hours are 5 p.m. to midnight on Friday, July 16, and 3 p.m. to midnight on Saturday, July 17 and Sunday, July 18.
Admission is free and goodwill donations will be accepted. A grand raffle with a first prize of $10,000 will also be held.
Sand volleyball tournament held
The Park Ridge Youth Commission and Park Ridge Park District will host a sand volleyball tournament on Saturday, July 17 at 5 p.m. at Hinkley Park, 25 Busse Highway.
The tournament is open to youth ages 11 to 18. Teams will be divided into middle school and high school divisions, and each co-ed team will have up to six players, organizers said.
Winners in each division will receive a prize, and a raffle for a $100 Amazon gift card will also take place.
To enter, each participant is asked to bring one canned food item for the Maine Township Food Pantry.
Participants can pre-register at prparks.org using activity #4110311-11 or register at the event at 5 p.m.
Park Ridge Chamber hosts Cruisin’ night
Cruisin’ Park Ridge, the Park Ridge Chamber of Commerce’s summer car show, will return on Friday, July 9 on Summit Avenue and in the Central Parking Lot next to the Park Ridge Public Library, 20 S. Prospect Ave., in Uptown.
The free event will take place from 6 to 9 p.m.

Additional Cruisin’ Park Ridge nights will take place on Aug. 6 and Sept. 3.
Niles Friday Concert July 9
Southern rock, blues, R&B, soul and “points in-between” are on the playlist Friday, July 9 when Cadillac Groove performs as part of the Niles Park District’s Summer Concert series. The outdoor concert is free and takes place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, July 9 in Niles’ Oak Park, Lee and Ottawa Streets, Niles. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and mosquito repellent.
