The Kane County Health Department will provide COVID-19 vaccinations from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 10, at the Illinois Department of Natural Resources Free Youth Fishing Derby at Jericho Lake Park, 39W365 Jericho Road in Aurora.

All youths ages 12 to 17 receiving the Pfizer vaccine will receive two free tickets to Six Flags Great America Theme Park in Gurnee, Kane County Health Department officials said. Minors under the age of 18 must bring a signed Pfizer consent form from a parent of guardian to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

The Kane County Health Department will have all of the COVID-19 vaccines – Janssen, Moderna and Pfizer – available for administration at the event. Vaccinations will be available for all persons 12 years old and older.

Shakespeare in the Park set in Geneva

Geneva’s Shakespeare in the Park event returns to Island Park Saturday, July 17, with “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”

The free performance starts at 6 p.m. The comedy, which is suitable for all ages, is a tale of runaway lovers, event organizers said.

Now in its 15th year, Shakespeare in the Park is presented by the city of Geneva’s Cultural Arts Commission. Seating begins at 4:30 p.m. at Island Park at State Street and Route 25 in Geneva.

The audience is encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and food for a picnic, organizers said. Sandwiches, water, soft drinks and ice cream will be available for purchase.

Parking is available at the Kane County Government Center, 719 S. Batavia Ave., and the Route 31 overflow commuter parking lot just south of the Union Pacific railroad underpass.
