Do Drblik, Makula, Hanusiak and Schoenfelt plan to gut Niles Library?

Regarding the situation with the newly-elected board members making big changes at the Niles-Maine District Library, I called Susan Dove Lempke and asked her some questions regarding her forced resignation from her post as director.  Here are her thoughts, along with my perceptions.

When the contract to hire (videographer) Steve Yasell was mentioned, Lempke recommended a background check. She said the form was mailed to Yasell, who called the company to inquire about the background check. Yasell claims he was treated rudely.  According to Lempke, library board president Carolyn Drblik was very upset that Yasell was treated rudely. Yasell has not completed the form, according to Lempke.

Is Yasell afraid of what the background check might reveal?

Why would Drblik be more concerned with Yasell being treated rudely than what he might be hiding? Food for thought.

Lempke said she was working off two different documents to produce the agendas for the budget meetings. She mistakenly left off an executive session on one of the agendas. As soon as Lempke realized the mistake, she immediately corrected it. Drblik was very upset she had to email Lempke regarding the exclusion. Drblik sent three emails in 15 minutes.  Lempke made an honest mistake.

A reason to lose your job? I don’t think so.

Lempke said she corrected Drblik regarding the requirement for 30 days needed between the tentative budget being approved, published in the newspaper and going to a formal vote.  Drblik has been on the board for eight years.  She should know these formalities.

My perception is Drblik and her three cronies, whose names are listed below, wanted Lempke out of the way so they would have no opposition to continue their plans to gut the Library from the inside out.

I believe we should be very concerned about the future plans Carolyn Drblik, Olivia Hanusiak, Joe Makula and Suzanne Schoenfeldt have in store for the Niles-Maine District Library.
