The Lyons Township School Treasurer’s Board is seeking applicants for an open trustee position
The League of Women Voters of the La Grange Area would like to share information regarding a trustee opening on the Lyons Township School Treasurer’s Board. The replacement will be appointed by the two remaining trustees. The term of the appointment is two years.
The Lyons Township School Treasurer’s Office manages the tax revenues for our local elementary and high schools. The responsibility of the trustee is to ensure that the financial services provided to the schools are done in a prudent, efficient, and transparent manner.

Applicants for the trustee opening must be: a qualified elector/register voter; and a resident of Lyons Township. However, no applicant shall reside within the same school district as a current trustee. So, no applicant can reside in Willow Springs Elementary School District #108 or Lyons Elementary School District #103.
No applicant can be eligible for the office of trustee of schools and school director or school board member simultaneously.
The term for the appointment begins on July 15 and ends on May 22, 2023.

All letters of interest and resumes must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. on July 12. President Michael S. Thiessen and Trustee Shakana L. Kirksey-Miller will appoint an individual to fill the term of the vacant trustee until the next consolidated election on April 4, 2023.
