Markham police are investigating the shooting death early Monday of a 45-year-old Palos Heights man.
Amando Sanders, of the 30 block of Shadow Creek Drive, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and his death was ruled a homicide by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
The shooting took place at a home in the 2200 block of West 157th Place in Markham, and police had responded to reports of shots fired just after 8 a.m. Monday, according to Michael Taylor, a spokesman for the city.
The medical examiner said that Sanders was pronounced dead at 9 a.m.
Investigators are being assisted by the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force. Taylor declined to say whether police have anybody in custody or provide additional details of the investigation.
