A motorcyclist suffered life-threating injuries after striking a curb Wednesday morning in Round Lake Beach, according to police.

Police said the man was traveling on northbound on Hainesville Road at a high rate of speed when his 1994 Harley Davidson struck a curb at the Clarendon Road intersection at around 7:20 a.m.

The driver, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected from the motorcycle. He was found next to the bike along a ditch line.

The man, whose identity has not been released by police, was taken to Advocate Condell Hospital with what authorities said were life-threatening injuries.

Round Lake Beach Police and the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team are continuing to investigate the accident.
