Oak Forest police are investigating two shootings that took place Wednesday, including one in which a vehicle was fired upon and three people were hurt.

In the second shooting, several shots were fired at a house in the city but nobody was injured, according to police.

Police said they were notified shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday by a hospital of gunshot victims being treated there.

Three people who were in the vehicle suffered nonlife threatening injuries and were treated and released, according to police.

Investigators who went to the hospital and interviewed the victims who said they were driving south in the 16800 block of Cicero Avenue when shots were fired at their vehicle from a dark-colored sport utility vehicle, according to police.

In the second shooting, police said that several 911 calls were received Wednesday at about 10 p.m. concerning shots fired in the 15200 block of Las Robles Street, and police said a home was hit by gunfire although nobody inside was hurt.

Neighbors told investigators that they saw a dark-colored Dodge Charger flee the area at a high rate of speed, according to police. Several 9 mm bullet casings were recovered at the scene, police said.

Police said they have not ruled out a possible connection between the two shootings.
