More than issuing a press release

Ann Taylor had barely completed her victory lap claiming major reforms at the Waukegan police department and, within weeks, there was this shameful wrongful arrest of a 15-year-old high school freshman athlete, and the police department’s attempt to force his confession on Taylor’s watch is disclosed. This is disgraceful, and unfortunately a continuation of past practices. This situation could have been avoided by applying some basic policing, and is generating negative national coverage for Waukegan. This is a life-changing, terrifying trauma for the young man and his family, a permanent indelible stain on the police department and Taylor, and a major miscue with the potential to end up in a major settlement to compensate for this incompetence. Taylor needs to stop taking premature credit for changes or reforms that have yet to occur or she will continue to lose credibility with the residents of Waukegan. Reform is more than issuing a press release.

I hate masks

I can’t wait till they get rid of these masks. Between losing earrings, foggy eyeglasses and not being able to understand people, my list can go on and on. I hate masks. And you morons who believe it’s keeping yourself safe, you’re again a moron in having faith in masks.

Just curious

I have a question. I’m not a big sports fan, but as I peruse the newspaper, whenever I go through the sports section I notice that all the local, high school, college photographs of sporting events seem to indicate that the participants are wearing masks on their chins. What purpose does it serve, and why do they even bother putting a mask on if it’s not going to prevent the spread of disease? I’m just curious.

Uncle Joe

I agree with the person who called in and said that the people that like Trump can’t change their opinion now because they’re locked in with the bozo. They are too scared to admit they screwed up. You are absolutely correct. They’re scared to admit they were wrong, so they’re going to stick with him no matter what — even if it brings the country down. But luckily, we haven Uncle Joe in office for the next two years and, more than likely, another four after that. Because Bone Spurs is going to be busy defending himself and trying to stay out of jail for all the lawbreaking he’s done.

This is ridiculous

Why is it that this country has to take in all of these refuges and people across the border all the time, when we have people, war veterans, and others living on the street because of bad situations? Why don’t we take care of them first? These are people that served their country, and we’re letting them live in the streets. What a crock. But yet, we’ll take these refugees from other countries all the time. I just don’t understand this. This is ridiculous. We’ve got enough problems, and yet we’re taking on more. Let some other countries help.

So many crazy people

I am an 83-year-old woman who has lived in Waukegan, Illinois, Lake County, all of her life and I have never, ever realized we had so many crazy people living here. Talk of the County is disgusting, and so are the people who call in.
