West Aurora School District 129 has announced the appointment of a new dean of students at West Aurora High School for next school year.
The West Aurora School Board recently approved the appointment of David Aguilar as high school dean at West High for the 2022-23 school year.
Aguilar is coming from Larkin High School in Elgin where he serves as dean of freshmen students.
Aguilar previously was a history teacher and foreign language facilitator at East Aurora High School for six years. In addition to the dean and teacher roles, Aguilar has also served as an adjunct instructor at St. Augustine College and North Central College.
Aguilar holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Northeastern Illinois University, a master’s degree in teaching and learning from the University of St. Francis and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Aurora University.
