* A Vintage Chicago story Sunday on political conventions in Chicago incorrectly stated that Abraham Lincoln’s political resume in the late 1850s was limited to a seat in the Illinois legislature. Lincoln also served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1847 to 1849. The story also gave some incorrect details about William Seward, who was a U.S. senator at the time of the 1860 Republican convention, having previously been New York’s governor. The Tribune regrets the error.
