Lake County authorities Tuesday released the identity of a pedestrian killed last week when he was struck by a car in North Chicago.
The coroner’s office said Eugene Durrly, 56, of Waukegan, died of blunt force trauma.
Durrly was struck by a car at about 8:45 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Lewis Avenue and 17th Street, according to police. Authorities pronounced him dead at the scene.
Due to the severity of the accident, the county Major Crash Assistance Team was activated to help with the investigation, which is ongoing, police said.
