Finding good in the bad: I look forward to the Monday sports reports as creative writers come up with a new list of reasons why the Bears played well but lost. Yet, the team continues to set records. A Channel 32 sportscaster advised after (a recent) game that the Bears are the first NFL team to score at least 29 points in three consecutive games and lose all three.

So hard to choose: The votes have all been counted and apparently there will be a runoff between Vladimir Putin and Elon Mask for “Least Inspirational Leader of the Year.” May the best dictator win.

Ulterior motives: So, Donald Trump’s announcement that he’s running again for president is not about running again for president. The man is simply running away from three grand jury investigations, two federal and one state. It has absolutely nothing to do with wanting to help anyone in this country other than himself. Keep running but you can’t hide.

Hypocritical action: Joe Biden, my favorite Democrat, is threatening Twitter with the Federal Trade Commission now that Elon Musk is not running Twitter correctly. Where was he for the last two years when they were censoring nothing but Republican and right-wing conservative views. If anybody out there doesn’t believe that this administration is the crookedest, nastiest, most disgusting administration in modern history, you are a moron.

Voters chose democracy: One thing is crystal clear. For maybe the first time in U.S. election history, voters chose democracy and decency over everything else, and the country will ultimately be much better off for it. Congrats to all Democrats!

Another tell-all book: Add Dr. Deborah Birx to the list of people who, while working under the Trump administration, stayed quiet for too long and now has a tell-all book because the government pension she so cautiously protected rather than speaking out and jeopardizing her job isn’t enough. Dr. Anthony Fauci is probably already working on his. So much for the Hippocratic oath.

Ruining holiday parties: When I think about all of the holidays that have been spoiled by partisan bickering since Trump first entered politics and the open hostilities between family members due to his vitriol, I’m all for indicting the disgraced ex-president on the grounds that he incited riots in countless American homes.

They’re still losers: Great article about all of the rushing records Justin Fields and the Bears are setting, but the only one that really counts in the end is the Bears’ losing record. Winning football teams prevail in offense, defense and special teams. Obviously, the Bears are not there yet.

Easier said than done: One hundred thirty people from the Van Meter Community School District in Iowa have signed a petition calling for the removal of lesson plans that teach critical race ideology and supposedly promote a liberal political agenda. Here’s a suggestion for them. When Republican Sen. Rob Johnson from Wisconsin, who supports a total abortion ban, was asked what a woman in Wisconsin would do if she wanted one, he responded by saying, she should move to another state. So that’s my recommendation. Move!

How things have changed: I’ve been seeing reports that doctors and health workers are worried that COVID-19, flu and respiratory infections may rise this winter. So far, vaccination rates have been low. Officials are encouraging people to get vaccinated and I do support this. What gets me is that the article was buried inside the paper. I remember when COVID-19 was front page news.

Bidens’ turn in hot seat: With the GOP taking the majority of the House of Representatives, soon we will find out the real truth about the Biden family version of Hardrock, Coco and Joe for the holidays. That will be the revelation of Hunter, James and Joe Biden’s pay-to-play network scheme with foreign countries. And also how compromised this president really is. So stay tuned.
