
The following items were taken from area police department reports and news releases. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.
Elmhurst
Animal bite
Joseph Pajak, 43, of the 300 block of West Fremont Avenue, Elmhurst, was cited for having an unrestrained dog at 8:59 a.m. April 15.
Battery
Michael McCambridge, 66, of the 200 block of North Willow Road, Elmhurst, was charged with aggravated battery to a peace officer and aggravated battery to emergency medical services personnel at 9:51 p.m. April 14 after police responded to a call they said threatened death to dispatchers and police.
Brigit Cahill, 27 of the 100 block of West Virginia Street, Elmhurst, was charged with domestic battery at 7:54 p.m. April 15.
Burglary
Items stolen from storage units in Public Storage, 297 W. Lake St., were discovered when Elmhurst police assisted Addison police in recovering a stolen vehicle on April 16.
Cannabis
Xavier Toledo, 21, of the 3200 block of Cicero Avenue, Chicago, was cited for illegal possession of cannabis by a driver at 8:41 p.m. April 14.
Megan Krull, 21, of the 300 block of South Sunnyside Avenue, Elmhurst, was cited for unlawful possession of cannabis by a passenger at 10:20 p.m. April 17.
In the same incident, Jesus Lugardo, 20, of the same address, was cited for driving with expired license plates.
Ronald Reid, 56, of the 500 block of South Michigan Court, Addison, was cited for driving with expired registration and for possession of cannabis in a motor vehicle at 4:09 p.m. April 19.
Criminal damage
A resident told police someone used some kind of heat source to damage two vehicles in a driveway on the 400 block of Alexander Boulevard between April 16 and April 19.
Criminal trespass
Geena Quiles, 30, of Elm Creek Drive, Elmhurst, was charged with criminal trespass at 1:06 p.m. April 15.
Deceptive practice
A resident reported someone gained access to her checking account between April 18 and April 19 and completed two transactions.
A resident reported on April 5 that he made contact with an unknown person on Instagram and purchased some car parts which never arrived.
A young Black male convinced a resident to send money to invest in Bitcoin, then arranged a meeting, supposedly to pick up profits. At the April 19 meeting, the suspect grabbed the victim’s phone and fled.
Drugs
David Rodriguez, 40, of the 1400 block of Kishwaukee Valley Road, Woodstock, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession of a hypodermic syringe and possession of drug paraphernalia at 4:25 p.m. April 18.
DUI
Edgar Rosales, 31, of the 4000 block of Clinton Avenue, Stickney, was charged with driving under the influence, improper lane use and driving without insurance at 4:07 a.m. April 15.
Thomas Swanson, 28, of the 10200 block of Hickory Drive, Orland Park, was charged with driving under the influence, driving in the wrong lane, improper lane use and driving without insurance at 2:32 a.m. April 16.
Hazardous materials
Nikolaos Karnavas, 78, of the 8300 block of South 78th Court, Justice, was cited for improper transport of hazardous materials and improper storage of hazardous materials at 2:22 p.m. April 11.
Identity theft
A resident reported someone used his information in mid-March to open a checking account and an account with AT&T.
A resident reported an unknown person used her information to open several credit card accounts and also reported two attempts to make fraudulent purchases on her American Express and Chase cards between Jan. 1 and April 14.
Reckless conduct
Richard Wilbert Jr., 19, of the 500 block of North Howard Avenue, Elmhurst, was charged with reckless conduct at 8:22 p.m. March 22 after reportedly admitting he fired a gun in his backyard, aiming toward a cemetery.
Stolen vehicle
A semi-tractor and trailer were reported stolen from Super Ego Logistics, 677 N. Larch Ave., on April 17.
Theft
William Friel, 35, of the 800 block of South Poplar Avenue, Elmhurst, was charged with theft at 2:22 p.m. April 13, after allegedly leaving Har-Lo Grill, 929 S. York St., without paying for food.
Several items were reported taken from Jewel-Osco, 153 E. Schiller St., about 3:40 p.m. April 13 by a man who left the store without paying.
Five unlocked aluminum dining chairs were reported taken from outside Mata Ne, 130 N. York St., between midnight and 11:15 a.m. April 15.
Africa McKinney, 28, of the 5800 block of South Morgan Street, Chicago, was charged with retail theft, burglary and unlawful possession of cannabis at 5:51 p.m. April 15 after allegedly driving away from Jewel-Osco, 944 S. York St., with stolen liquor and admitting the theft to police.
Police were told that an unknown person tried without success to “wash” and cash checks mailed by an Elmhurst organization between March 6 and April 17.
Theft by deception
A resident reported April 18 that after receiving a check to buy supplies for a job, he was asked to send back some of the money. He recognized that as a scam and did not send any money.
Traffic
Russell Miller, 24, of the 900 block of West 84th Street, Chicago, was cited for five counts of failing to secure a child, driving without a valid driver’s license, improper lane use, failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident, leaving the scene of an accident involving an attended vehicle and driving without insurance at 2:57 p.m. April 14.
Miller was cited twice a few minutes later with similar charges in connection with two other collisions. All accidents and citations related to Miller allegedly fleeing pursuit by Oak Brook and Villa Park police after an incident in Oak Brook.
Javion Van, 19, of the 1100 block of Tuscany Drive, Streamwood, was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license, driving with expired registration and driving with a loud muffler at 7:57 p.m. April 15.
Emily Ivory, 39, of the 3800 block of Park Avenue, Brookfield, was cited for driving with a suspended driver’s license at 10:45 a.m. April 16.
Jessica Keathley, 23, of the first block of North 23rd Avenue, Melrose Park, was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license, improper lighting and driving without insurance at 9:31 p.m. April 17.
Briana McMahon, 25, of the 200 block of Douglas Avenue, Elgin, was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license, driving without insurance and improperly tinted windows at 10:41 p.m. April 17.
Terrence Dockery, 29, of the 3600 block of Flournoy Street, Chicago, was cited for driving with a suspended driver’s license at 4:09 a.m. April 18.
Koffi Yovo, 22, of the 100 block of Carlisle Avenue, Westmont, was charged with driving with a canceled driver’s license and driving with expired registration at 5:29 a.m. April 19.
Amelia Smith, 34, of the 17W700 block of Butterfield Road, Oakbrook Terrace, was cited for driving without a valid driver’s license, possession of cannabis in a motor vehicle and speeding at 11:31 p.m. April 19.
