Fraud
A complainant on the 5900 block of Lincoln Avenue stated July 26 an unknown female subject tried to withdraw money from a checking account with a fraudulent ID and fled on foot when confronted, police said.
Battery
Gabriel Figueroa, 53, of the 8800 block of Moody Street, Morton Grove, was arrested July 28 for battery on the 9200 block of National Avenue after a complainant stated he had been kicked and punched in the face, police said. A court date is set for Sept. 5.
Possession of stolen vehicle
Jeffrey Posey, 33, of the 8200 block of South Ellis Avenue, Chicago, was arrested July 29 on the 6300 block of Dempster Street for possession of a stolen vehicle and driving on a suspended driver’s license, police said. A court date is set for Aug. 14.
Identity theft
A complainant residing on the 8400 block of Mango Street stated July 27 she had gotten a phone call from a person who said Amazon needed her personal identifying information to make a delivery, police said. Police said the complainant provided her information and then realized she was being scammed.
