A woman who was brought by helicopter to a Lake County hospital after a five-car crash has died from her injuries, the coroner’s office said Tuesday.,
Lake County Coroner Jennifer Banek’s office identified the victim as 55-year-old Araceli Almarada-Mondragon of Pingree Grove. She died Tuesday from blunt force injuries, the coroner’s office said.
Almarada-Mondragon was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville following a Saturday afternoon crash on Illinois Route 47 and Foster Road near Huntley, authorities said. The multi-vehicle crash happened when a vehicle struck others that had stopped as a driver was attempting a left turn, according to reports.
Other injuries were reported, though none of the others were life-threatening.
