Winthrop Harbor officials said they recovered the body of a man over the weekend from beneath a dock near a Lake Michigan marina.

The identity of the man, who was 70, has not been released.

The Winthrop Harbor Fire Department said it was called at about 3:30 p.m. Saturday to the North Point Marina after receiving reports of a missing person. Authorities said they began a search after determining that there was a high probability that the man, who had been last seen at about 10:30 p.m. Friday, had gone into the water.

Area departments from Lake, McHenry and Kenosha counties responded to aid in the search. At about 8:30 p.m. Saturday, the man’s body was found under a dock, fire officials said.
