Lake County authorities are seeking the public’s help in locating a missing Lake Barrington man.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who has seen Andrew McAuliff to contact police. McAuliff, 30, was last seen about two weeks ago in the 400 block of White Oak Lane in Lake Barrington, leaving his home on foot.
He did not have his phone or other electronic devices with him, the sheriff’s office said.
The missing man was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt, black shorts and gray gym shoes. He is five-foot-11 and weighs about 145 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. The sheriff’s office has posted a photo of him on its Facebook page.

Jet skis crash
Police said four people were injured on Labor Day when their jet skis collided on Gage’s Lake.
Two Indiana men were driving the personal watercraft, with each carrying a female passenger, when the collision happened at about noon.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office said one of the jet skis cut in front of the second, and the lead craft’s “no wake mode” was activated, causing it to slow dramatically. The following craft was unable to slow down, and it ran into the other.
A man and woman were brought to a hospital for treatment of what police said were non-life-threatening injuries. The other two people suffered minor injuries but declined to be transported, police said. The incident remains under investigation.
New K-9
The sheriff’s office has added another K-9 to its crew, as Zack, an explosives detection dog, reported for duty.
Zack recently completed five weeks of intensive training with his handler, Deputy Trisha List. The dog was born last year in Europe, and came to the U.S. to be trained at a Pennsylvania center that is one of the leading facilities for police dogs.
The sheriff’s office said Zack’s training will be used in several ways, including sweeping public buildings for explosives or firearms; conducting security sweeps of county courthouses and government complexes; assisting area police departments whenever specialized explosive detection is needed; and supporting major investigations by locating firearms, explosives and related evidence.
“His explosive detection skills will be used to protect schools, public buildings and community events, and he’ll be ready to assist our local law enforcement partners whenever needed,” Sheriff John Idleburg said. “Just as important, having K-9 Zack on our team serves as a strong deterrent, showing our commitment to creating the safest possible environment for the people of Lake County.”
List said she and Zack are looking forward to a long career together. With the addition of Zack, the department now has 10 K-9 teams.
Crash victim identified
The Lake County Coroner’s Office identified the man killed in a Wednesday auto accident as Joshua Rosendahl, 27, of Ingleside.
He died at around 5 a.m. when the car he was driving crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a work truck on Illinois Route 134 in Ingleside.
Police said Rosendahl had an open bottle of whiskey, and the car he was driving had been reported stolen the previous day from a Fox Lake gym. The truck driver was injured in the collision, police said.
