Fire crews and divers returned to Fox Lake Tuesday to search for a man who is missing after being ejected from a boat that he was taking for a test drive, police said.
The boat’s owner, who was along for the ride, was also ejected but was picked up by another boater, authorities said.
The incident happened at about 5:30 p.m. Monday near the Captain’s Quarters restaurant, in the 38200 block of North Bolton Place, near Antioch.
Deputy Chief Christopher Covelli of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office said the men were driving the boat at a high rate of speed when they turned suddenly. The force of the turn caused the men to be ejected from the boat, Covelli said.
Crews searched for the missing man into the night on Monday. The other man was brought to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
