A woman and a man died of smoke inhalation in a Friday morning apartment fire that erupted in the Miller section of Gary
Around 11:45 a.m. Friday, Jacqueline Kelly, 52, and Ricky Kelly, 58, were pronounced dead at the scene of the fire, an apartment building where they lived in the 5900 block of Forest Avenue, according to a release from the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
Forensic autopsies were performed in Crown Point on Saturday. The cause of death for both victims was smoke inhalation.
