A home was deemed uninhabitable following a fire Monday morning in Aurora, according to the Aurora Fire Department.
At around 10:22 a.m. on Monday, the Aurora Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the 1700 block of Violet Street, a news release from the fire department said.
Upon arrival, crews found a fully involved attached garage fire with a vehicle also fully engulfed in flames in the driveway, the news release said. Fire conditions also extended into the home, and a nearby home was exposed to high heat. The incident was ultimately upgraded to a second alarm based on the conditions reported upon arrival, officials said.
Firefighters deployed multiple hose lines and began exterior and interior fire attack operations, the department said in the release, while truck company personnel performed ventilation. Crews did searches of the home while working to bring the fire under control and checking for fire extension throughout the structure.
All occupants of the home were able to exit before firefighters entered, and no victims were found during crews’ searches, according to the department. No firefighter injuries were reported, but a woman was transported for a medical emergency unrelated to the fire, the release said.
Because of the fire damage, the home was ultimately deemed uninhabitable, per the department.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the department’s fire investigators, according to the release.
