
The 28th East-West Alumni Basketball Game is set for Friday, April 10, at West Aurora High School, 1201 W. New York St. in Aurora.
The women’s alumni game will begin at 6 p.m., with the men’s alumni game immediately following, according to organizers.
All proceeds from the evening will benefit the Marie Wilkinson Child Development Center, organizers said.
Tickets bought in advance are $10 for adults and $8 for students. They can be purchased online at https://www.ticketfalcon.com/e/28th-east-aurora-vs-west-aurora-alumni-bas/. Tickets can also be bought at Sophisticated You Hair Salon and the Marie Wilkinson Child Development Center, both in Aurora.
The West Aurora High School roster for the women’s alumni game will include Essence Rayford, Kanishea Doby, Skylar Doby, Carley Frauenhoff, Devin Vaugh, Selene Rodriguez, Kina Miller, Kiyanna Rodgers, Dajour Miles, Samara Martinez and Kiki Towles.
The team will be coached by T’yon Meeks.
The team sponsor is Stan Rayford’s Rayford Success Group.
The East Aurora High School roster for the women’s alumni game will include Felicia Mercado, Yessenia Cabadas, Sandy Cabadas, Jeanette Vilezcas, Jasemine Shipp, Tatiana Ocasio, Mallory Garza, Fatima Monroy, Alasha Moore, Brelyn Brannon and Yuliana Garcia.
The team will be coached by Candice McAllister, with assistant coaches Tasha Cameron and Shanika Burns.
The team sponsor is the Law Office of Geneva L. Penson.
This year’s men’s alumni game roster for West Aurora High School includes Travis Marion Jr., Markus Cocroft, Tommy Goulding, Traevon Brown, Hezekiah Salter, Randy Stewart, Tyrone Carey Jr., Reggie Jordan, Derrick McCullough, Jarred Crusher, Kelvin Balfour and Axel Motola Sanchez.
The team will be coached by Kenny Battle, with assistant coaches Sonny Postlewaite and Dernardo Eiland.
The team sponsor is Leave Me Bee Pest Control, Inc., Tito and Yolanda V. Dunn.
The men’s alumni game roster for East Aurora High School includes Craig Shackleford, Justin Tiner, Ryan Hayden, Steve Green, Omar Hernandez, Jon Villezcas, Adrian Smith, Maurice Judon, Devyn Laughlin, Tron Kirkwood, Jashuan Hurston and Dantae Holmes.
The team will be coached by Wendell Jeffries, with assistant coach Archie Hubbard.
The team sponsor is Debra Johnson, Sophisticated You Hair Salon.
The event will also include a three-point contest. Event DJs are East/West alums Chris Brown, Richard Graves and Kenny Cahill, organizers said, West Aurora graduate Shannon Guyton will be performing the national anthem.
The 40s Double Dutch Club and AMB Money will also be performing, according to event organizers, and West Aurora alumni men’s coach and former NBA player Kenny Battle will be recognized for his commitment to the community.
