Lake County authorities are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who apparently drowned in Lake Michigan in recent days.
The man’s body was sighted in shallow waters along the Fort Sheridan Forest Preserve beach in Highland Park at 6:08 p.m. on Friday.
An autopsy conducted on Monday indicated the man had drowned.
He is described as 5-foot-3 and weighing about 140 pounds. His age was estimated to be between his late 50s and early 70s. He had gray hair and was balding. He was wearing lightweight, light-blue drawstring shorts, an olive-green Adidas cap, Nike gym shoes, and a Tahari watch.

The incident remains under investigation by the Lake County Forest Preserves Police Department and the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
