A 36-year-old man was stabbed in the neck and body during a fight Wednesday night on a Chicago Transit Authority Blue Line train in the Loop neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Shortly before 7:30 p.m., the man was involved in a fight on the train traveling in the 500 block of South LaSalle Street when he was stabbed in the neck and left side of his body with a sharp object, police said.

The person he had fought with fled the scene, and the man was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was listed in fair condition, police said.

Detectives are investigating.
