EX-PRINCIPAL COULD GET CHARGES DISMISSED FOR THREATENING EX
A former Pulaski County principal could get his charges dismissed for threatening his ex-wife if he completes a pre-trial diversion program, court filings show.
Shawn Walsh, 53, of Winfield, was charged in February with intimidation and resisting law enforcement, plus two misdemeanors.
The diversion agreement – given to defendants with otherwise clean records – will require him to pay court fines and not rack up any new charges for a year. A review hearing is set in May 2027.
Until earlier this year, Walsh was the principal at West Central Elementary in Francesville, in Pulaski County. The school has about 335 students.
Crown Point Police responded just before 8 p.m. Feb. 17 to the 11000 block of Green Place.
As an officer arrived, he spotted the former couple’s 11-year-old son crying in a doorway. No one else was home. The child said Walsh said he was going to “kill” his mother, according to charging documents.
INTIMIDATION CASE DISMISSED AGAINST HIGHLAND MAN
A special prosecutor filed to dismiss an intimidation case in April after the victims “no longer (wanted) to pursue the prosecution,” court filings show.
Slobodan Dimitrijevic, 52, was also charged with stalking, plus four misdemeanors — criminal trespass, two counts of harassment and one count of intimidation.
At the Munster Police station, the ex-wife and her companion told cops that Dimitrijevic kept calling and harassing her. The other man said Dimitrijevic threatened to kill him, saying he was a “dead man,” the affidavit states.
She showed cops various violent texts from Dimitrijevic, including one where he said he would drink the man’s blood.
