A 13-year-old boy was wounded in a drive-by shooting Monday night on the Northwest Side in the Portage Park neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Shortly after 8 p.m., officers responded to a call of a person shot in the 6000 block of West Montrose Avenue. A 13-year-old boy was outside when a dark-colored SUV drove past, and someone inside opened fire, striking the boy in the left leg, police said.
The boy was taken to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where he was listed in good condition, police said.
Detectives were investigating.
