KANE STORM DAMAGE SURVEY NOW AVAILABLE
In the aftermath of storms that occurred July 2-4, the Kane County Office of Emergency Management is encouraging property owners who experienced uninsured damage to complete a storm damage self-assessment survey.
The information will be used to help local and state officials assess the extent of damage and to determine whether the region may qualify for state or federal disaster assistance, according to a news release.
“This survey provides valuable information that helps emergency management officials assess the overall impact of the storms on our communities,” Scott Buziecki, Kane County Office of Emergency Management director, said in the release.
The Elgin area received more than 5 inches of rain over the holiday weekend and Sugar Grove and the Aurora Municipal Airport each reported more than 8 inches, according to the National Weather Service.
Property owners are also encouraged to document storm damage by taking photos and keeping receipts for cleanup, repairs and other storm-related expenses, the release said.
To fill out the survey, do a Google search for “Kane County storm damage self-assessment survey.” For more information, call to 630-232-5985.
