A suspect has been taken into custody following a fatal shooting early Friday near Ingleside, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Police said they responded at around 3:10 a.m. to the 25900 block of Laneville Drive for a report of a disturbance, with the caller telling dispatchers that someone had been shot and the shooter was believed to be outside the home.
Police located a man believed to have been the shooter outside the residence, armed with a gun. That person was arrested, though charges had yet to be filed, police said.
Officers evacuated a number of people from inside the residence, and they found a dead man with apparent gunshot wounds.
Police have not released any identities or details of the shooting. An autopsy has been scheduled as police continue their investigation.
