Elmhurst police announced Monday afternoon that a body pulled from a quarry Sunday has been identified as a Naperville man reported missing July 20.
According to police, 28-year-old Gabriel De Sagun’s family reported that he had been dropped off by a relative at a parking lot on West Avenue to retrieve his car.
The car was found in a nearby townhouse parking lot in Elmhurst. A home security video showed him walking away south on a sidewalk between 2nd and 3rd streets.
Aerial and underwater drones, police dogs, a helicopter, boats and sidescan sonar were used to search for him.
A public-safety drone located his body in water in the eastern portion of the quarry, officials said.
