Authorities were searching in and along the Des Plaines River in Libertyville Friday for a man reported missing.
The search was centered near the Oak Spring Road boat launch, which is part of the Lake County Forest Preserves.
Forest Preserves Police Chief Ron Davis said they were searching for a 30-year-old man from Evanston who was reported missing and was seen near a preserve.
Forest Preserves rangers and other agencies conducted an extensive search for the man, but he had yet to be found Friday afternoon.
