Among the photographs and mementos Leigh Ann Young has saved from her father Verlon Walker's life are his cigarette lighter, baseball player tie clip and his 1961 Texas League Champions ring while he was in the minor leagues in San Antonio, TX. Walker was a coach with the Chicago Cubs from 1961-1971. Young longs to hear her father say; "You're beautiful, you're talented, I love you." Walker died of leukemia when Young was three years old she longs to hear his voice.
