Anna Kioutas OBITUARY

Anna Kioutas (nee Paniotte) Age 95 of Wilmette IL passed away peacefully on Sunday morning May 17th, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Theodosios and predeceased by her son Tim. She is survived by her daughter Dr. Katherine (Dr. George) Katsoyannis, son George Kioutas, and grandchildren Anna Maria and Peter Katsoyannis. She is also predeceased by a brother Dr. Emmanuel Paniotte (the late Mary), and survived by sister Dr. Irene Panayotou, Eva (Dr. Stavros) Douvas, and Litsa (Angelo) Dalageorgas.

Anna had a remarkable life. She first obtained her law degree at Athens university and then immigrated to the United States joining family in Chicago. She met and married the love of her life and they started a family. A trendsetter, she was one of three female graduates of DePaul law in 1962 and is still remembered as the pregnant one.

She had an extraordinary career settling legal matters across continents and oceans. She was a decades long member of the Illinois, Womens, and Hellenic Bar Associations and enjoyed mentoring younger attorneys. She and her husband were always available to support many philanthropic and social organizations in the Greek American community. In particular, they were instrumental in establishing the Greek American Rehabilitation and Care Center for which the community is forever grateful.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 3pm to 8pm at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home 1104 Waukegan Rd. Glenview, IL 60025. Friends and family will meet for a funeral service on Friday, May 22, 2026 at 10am at SS. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church 1401 Wagner Rd. Glenview, IL 60025.
