Bennie Edward Council Jr., 65, of Great Falls, Virginia, passed away on April 10, 2026.

Born on October 26, 1960, Bennie lived a life grounded in love, strength, and an unwavering devotion to his family. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a loyal friend whose presence brought comfort, laughter, and steady support to all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, LaVerne, and his son, Troy. He is also survived by his mother, Corrie Council, and his sister, Belinda (Dwayne) Hamer. He was preceded in death by his father, Bennie Edward Council Sr.

Bennie earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Illinois State University and went on to build a distinguished career as an agent with State Farm Insurance, where he served his community with dedication for over 40 years. He was also a proud and active member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity for more than four decades, forming lifelong bonds of brotherhood and service.

A funeral service celebrating Bennie’s life will be held on April 25, 2026, at Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home & Crematory. Family and friends are invited to gather to remember, honor, and celebrate a life so deeply loved and well lived.
