Bram P. Saffie OBITUARY

Bram P. Saffie OBITUARY

Bram Saffie, of Aurora, Illinois, passed away on June 5, 2026, after a courageous battle with prostate cancer. Born on March 12, 1946, in Santiago, Chile, Bram was a man of music, adventure, and an abiding love for the sea. In 1970, a journey to France brought him to the United States, where he found his home along the Massachusetts coast — drawn by the salt air and the pull of the Atlantic that would remain with him always. A gifted singer and guitarist, Bram toured the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada for many years, sharing his music with warmth and ease wherever he went. In 1997, he stepped off the stage to devote himself to raising his daughter Brianna — a decision made with the same quiet generosity that defined everything he did. He went on to work at local restaurants, as a First Student bus driver, and at Walmart, greeting each day as a fitness enthusiast, an avid runner, and a man who was always happiest exploring somewhere new, preferably within earshot of the ocean. He met life with a smile and left every room a little warmer for having been in it. He is survived by his beloved wife and partner of 48 years, Deborah; his daughter, Brianna Saffie; his first grandson, Liam, arriving in August; his dog, Riley; his sister, Oriana Saffie of Conception, Chile; his sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Carlos Mancero of West Des Moines, Iowa; his nephew and niece, Bella and Chaz Mancero; his nephews and niece Claudio Valenzuela, Sergio Valenzuela, and Patricia Saffie of Chile; and five grand-nieces and nephews. The family will receive guests on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 5:00pm until time of service at 7:00pm at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave., Montgomery, IL 60538. A private interment will be held at Naperville Cemetery, Naperville, Illinois, on Saturday, June 13, 2026.

“Always looking at life with a positive outlook and a smile on his face.”
