Colleen Jersild OBITUARY

Colleen Jersild, born Oct 7, 1933, died May 31, 2026. She grew up in the Midwest and received degrees from the University of Michigan, living in Boston and San Francisco before settling in Chicago. After a career in Special Education, she became a fiber artist, selling her work throughout the United States as well as Japan and Canada. Locally she was part of the Evanston Art Center Holiday show for over 50 years.

She is survived by her husband Thomas Jersild, her daughter Karen Jersild (Glenn Leggett), son Paul Jersild, and granddaughter Claire Leggett.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 8 at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church of Wilmette, 600 9th Street, Wilmette, IL 60091
