Dale J. Leinonen 1935 – 2026 Dale passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026, at Harbor House Memory Care in Wheeling, IL. He was preceded in death by his mother Florella (nee Robbins), father John, brother Marvin and his wife Phyllis (nee Hietala). Dale is survived by his son Alan (late Barbara), daughter Diane, sister Susan (Mario), sister Linda (Jerry) and grandson John (Teal) as well as many relatives and friends. Dale served honorably in the U.S. Army, including duty preparing the ski racecourse in the 1960 Winter Olympics. Plans are to have a memorial in Northern Wisconsin in September. Details to be determined. In Dale’s high school yearbook, he was described as “Prince of Pleasant Fellows”. Dale maintained this title his entire life.
