Dianne Berthold, née Bartz, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2026 at the age of 83. Born in Geneseo, Illinois, Dianne grew up and attended school in the area, graduating with the class of 1960. She was stricken with polio in September 1959 and was in a wheelchair the rest of her life. Dianne met Charles “Chuck” Berthold at the University of Illinois and they were wed August 12, 1967. Dianne and Chuck started their family in 1969 eventually having four children: Rod (Julie) Berthold, Dan (Maggie) Berthold, Chris (Maggy) Berthold, and Andrea (Nanette Grizi) Berthold. There will be a private family memorial at a later date. Dianne is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Ella Bartz. She is survived by her children and six grandchildren.
