Florence Rosenblum OBITUARY

Florence Rosenblum OBITUARY

Florence Rosenblum (née Finkelman) was born to Rose and Julius Finkelman on February 14, 1928. In many ways, her life reflected the day she was born. Was there ever a person more loving, or more deeply loved, than Florence, our Valentine’s Day girl? Everyone who knew Florence knew that she and love were one and the same. For seventy years, Florence and her husband, Abe, shared a life and love for the ages. Married in 1951, Abe may have filled the public space, but it was Florence who held his heart and anchored their marriage. Abe often said he had lived two lives, because when he met Florence, his true life began. Florence was raised on the West Side of Chicago, graduated from Marshall High School, and worked for many years as a secretary. She stepped away from her career after the birth of her first daughter and devoted herself fully to raising her four daughters: Sherry Rosenblum (Gary H. Smith), Judy Federman (Harry), Andrea Crain (Larry), and Susan Rosenblum. Florence was the beloved grandmother of nine grandchildren and great-grandmother of five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Sol and Arvin Finkelman. For more than eleven years, Florence was cared for with extraordinary love and devotion by Mark Yu and Amor Iranagon. They loved her like a mother, and she loved them as family. Florence died on the morning of April 16, 2026, after a brief illness. Funeral service Monday, April 20th at 11AM at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 195 N. Buffalo Grove Road (One block north of Lake Cook Road) Buffalo Grove. Interment Shalom Memorial Park, 1700 West Rand Road, Arlington Heights, where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved Abe for all eternity. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chicago Mitzvah Campaign, www.chicagomitzvahcampaign.com or Charity of Choice. To attend the funeral livestream, please visit our website.
