Gary Scott Winner, age 64, passed away on June 9, 2026. Beloved father of the two loves of his life, Madison Winner (Eric Cruickshank) and Tori Winner (Connor Holloway); devoted son of Diane and the late Michael Winner; loving brother of Lisa (David) Bercu; cherished uncle of Alana, Dylan, and Caroline. Nephew of Jeffrey (Donna) Greengoss, Faith Field and Diane (Dr. Sandy) Silverman. He is also lovingly remembered by his childhood friend and the mother of his daughters, Lynn Winner, and his dear companion, Anne Nebenzahl. Treasured friend and cousin to many.

A Chicago kid who became a Californian to his core, Gary was a guitarist for more than 45 years, a coffee aficionado who ran his own coffee business, a gifted athlete most at home on a golf course and a music lover who didn’t just listen to songs but knew them; their stories, their players. He was full of warmth, charisma, humor and song, and passed that love on to his girls.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 19th, from 2:00–6:00pm at Ravinia Green Country Club in Riverwoods, IL.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Gary Winner Glioblastoma Research Fund (https://fundraise.gbmresearch.org/campaign/818209/donate) to help fund research for glioblastoma, an incurable disease with too few treatments, that takes too many people too soon.
