George Trent OBITUARY

George Conroy Trent, 84, a longtime resident of Libertyville, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026. As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), George channeled his expertise into a remarkable 36-year career as a professor at Wilbur Wright College, where he also served as the Chair of the Accounting Department. His impact was recognized when the Illinois CPA Society named him the Outstanding Educator of the Year.

He found immense joy in spending time by the water, especially during trips to Door County, and settling in with a good book. He had an insatiable quest for knowledge and never stopped exploring new fields of interest. Above all, George treasured his family. He was an incredibly proud grandfather, and his eight grandchildren were the absolute light of his life.

George is survived by his wife of 56 years Barbara (nee Hunt); his children Catherine (Pawel) Parada and David (Brigid); his grandchildren Connor, Grayson, Dylan and Emma Parada, Naiya, Brielle, Chloe and Beckett Trent; his siblings Delia “Dee” (Jerry) Cwiok and John (the late Lynn) Trent; his sister-in-law Jo-Ann Ganschaw; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Dolores (the late Al) Winterfeld, Michael (the late Kathy) Trent, Roy (the late Linda) Trent, and James Trent.

Visitation for George will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Tues. June 30th at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl, Libertyville. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Wed.
