Harvey Earl Wright OBITUARY

Harvey Earl Wright, 94, passed away on July 12, 2026 at Advocate Condell Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 26, 1931 to Henry Earl Wright and Grace Wright (nee Olcott) in Waukegan, Illinois where he resided all of his life. He married Aldona Kuzinskas on September 28, 1963 at St. Bartholomew Church (currently Most Blessed Trinity Parish; Holy Family Catholic Church) where he was a life-long active member, served on the school board, and was a lector and usher. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Waukegan Council 731 and the VFW. Harvey was a veteran of the United States Navy serving on the USS Macon in 1951 during the Korean war. He worked at the United State Steel Corp for 31 years before retiring from St. Therese Medical Center after 20 years of employment. Harvey graduated from Glen Flora Grade School (1945) and Waukegan High School (1949). He was a quiet, loving man with a hearty laugh, had the ability to fix anything and would help anyone in need. He was an avid reader, had a passion for dogs and was a life-long fan of the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cubs. He was thrilled to see his beloved Cubbies win the World Series in 2016. But most of all, Harvey enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his children: Joan (Scott) Rexroat (Las Vegas, NV), and Michael (Heather) Wright (San Diego, CA); his grandchildren: Aidan Wright and Ryan Rexroat; sister-in-law Roseann Wilford and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Aldona Wright, son Joseph Wright, parents Henry and Grace Wright, sister Martha Orbank, brother Les Wright, daughter baby girl Wright, and grandchildren Christopher and Kaitlyn Rexroat who all died in infancy, sister and brother in-laws Aloysius and Bernice Machak and brother-in-laws Rev. Monsignor John Kuzinskas and George Orbank. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday July 17, 2026 at Most Blessed Trinity Parish; Holy Family Catholic Church, 450 Keller Ave, Waukegan, IL. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Ascension Catholic Cemetery in Libertyville, IL. In lieu of flowers, masses are preferred or donation to Holy Family Church (Most Blessed Trinity Parish), or a donation in his memory can be made to Friends of Ann Kiley Center, c/o Henrietta Reder, 1401 Dugdale Road, Waukegan, IL 60085.
