Henry F. Wimmer, 93, of Montgomery, Illinois passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at his home. He was born on August 4, 1932, in Marathon, Wisconsin, the son of Henry and Amelia Wimmer. Henry was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Henry was a member of Loyal Order of Moose #2371 where he served as State Ritual Chairman and International Ritual Judge. He was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the American Legion. Henry served in the United States Navy in the Korean War. He was an avid sports fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Atlanta Braves.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-eight years, Sarah (Sally Hogle) Wimmer; his daughter Rita Wimmer; three grandchildren, Henry (Johanna) Wimmer, Kenny Wimmer and Holly (Nick) Hamilton; his four great grandchildren, Henry, Toby, Tommy, and Natalynn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Amelia (Wolfe) Wimmer; his son, Michael R. Wimmer; and thirteen brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 9:30 AM from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY to Our Lady of Good Counsel Church at 10:00 AM; Fr. Mulcahey will officiate with entombment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 22, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 North Lake Street, Aurora, Illinois 60506. (630) 631-5500.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Henry’s name to the American Heart Association.
