James, Jr. S. Fouts OBITUARY

James S. Fouts Jr, 93, was born May 12,1933 in Chicago to James S. Fouts Sr. and Alice (nee Woodhams) Fouts. He lived formerly in Lake Bluff and Lake Forest, Illinois passed away June 16, 2026.

Jim lived a life marked by dedication to his profession, service to his community, and devotion to his family. He attended Lake Forest College and later earned his Juris Doctor degree from DePaul Law School. He practiced law in Lake County for more than 50 years and was a member of the Bar Association for over 50 years.

An avid sports enthusiast, Jim found great joy in baseball, basketball, speed skating, skiing, sailing, biking, and tennis. His passion for skiing led to a remarkable 50 years of service with the National Ski Patrol. He was a lifelong dog lover and treasured the companionship of the many dogs that shared his life over the years. He traveled the world with his second wife, visiting many countries and learning about their culture. Laster in life became an RVer with his siblings

Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wives, Mary Conlon Fouts, and Mary J. Giese Fouts, and by his brother, Wayne Fouts.

He is survived by his children, James S. Fouts III, Bridget Kimberly Fouts, and Brendan (Sara) Fouts; his grandchildren, Ethan Aubrey, Liam Phealan, Conner Quinn Elwyn, Anna (Cameron) Krause, Justin (fiancé Brekken Maas), Caleb, Seth, Damien, and Monica. He is also survived by his sister, Cheryl (Jack) Hayes, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of his life, visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Wenban Funeral Home, 320 Vine Avenue, Lake Forest. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m.
