Jerome and Loretta Malburg OBITUARY

Jerome “Jerry” I Malburg, 89, of Barrington, IL passed away of heart failure Saturday, March 14, 2020, surrounded by his family at his home. Due to Covid shutting the world down, services had to be delayed. His wife of 64 years, Loretta “Lori” C Malburg, 95, of Kankakee, IL, formerly of Barrington, IL, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2026. Jerome was born on November 24, 1930 in Chicago to Bernard and Lucille Malburg. He was the second son of 6 siblings, and is survived by one sister, Ayleen VanBeynen. Loretta was born October 12, 1930 in Palatine, IL and was last the last surviving child of John & Clara Kastning’s 8 children.

Jerry served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean War. Jerry & Lori Malburg owned and operated Jerry’s Cartage in Cary, IL from 1958 until Jerry’s retirement in 2002.

Jerry & Lori were members of Sims Country Lane Bowling League, Lake Zurich, IL and founding members of Stonehenge Golf Club, Lake Barrington, IL. They enjoyed traveling the world with their favorite destination being Acapulco, Mexico.

Lori was a former member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hawthorn Woods, IL and recent member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Kankakee, IL. Surviving are their daughters Nancy (late William) Logue of Barrington, IL; Kris (Darrin) Duchene of Kankakee, IL; Grandchildren Morgan Logue (Ben Phelps); Matthew (Megan) Logue; Madelyn Duchene; great grandchildren Olivia & Lucy Logue.

Services will be held Saturday, June 20, 2026 from 1-4pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St., Barrington, IL.
